After 5 years on our gluten-free diet, we have tried lots of gluten-free products. We are happy to share the ones that work best for us. We do not advertise products and we are not paid to promote them. We only share products we genuinely like and recommend.
Bread: Our Gourmet Pick
This is a delicious and flavorful bread that is the closest to the real thing. It’s full of grains and holds it shape without crumbling like other gluten-free breads. Don’t be afraid to buy it frozen. Sold at Whole Foods and natural stores.
Bread: Our Budget Pick
Udi’s is a very good sandwich bread. It holds together better than most breads, but not as well as our Gourmet Choice – Canyon Bakehouse 7-grain. It also does not score as high on the flavor as it lacks the seeds and grains used by the Canyon Bakehouse. Still, better than many. Sold at Costco and about $1 less per loaf than Canyon. Link.
Pasta (Brown Rice)
We tried every kind of gluten-free pasta there is: corn, quinoa, chickpea, lentil. The brown rice pasta holds best and we have liked this brand. Follow box instructions. Chickpea pasta would be a viable alternative in other brands. Link.
Bread, Dinner Rolls, Flatbread Mix
This brand makes a delicious flatbread mix from almond and other types of flour. It is packed with flavor and easy to make. Enjoy the flatbread with some hummus, olives, tomatoes – it’s a favorite of ours. Link.
Pizza
Who said you can’t have pizza? Well, you can, but try and avoid pre-made frozen stuff. Instead, make one by yourself with a favorite home-made sauce and veggies. Udi’s makes a nice thin crust. Link.
Crackers
These crackers are crispy and salty – very more-ish in the sense that you’ll want more. They are good just on your own or with some hummus. Sold at Costco. Link.
Cheese Crackers
These are delicious multigrain crackers and go well with cheeses. Sold at Costco. Link.
Muffins
Delicious banana muffin mix. Soft and moist, it can compete with some glutenous muffins out there. Sold at Whole Foods, Amazon, and natural food stores. Link.
