Minimal Recipe
- Chicken (any part)
- 1 large yellow onion
- 4-5 cloves of garlic
- 1 large potato (optional)
- water
- salt and pepper
Prep Time: 5-10 min. Cooking time: 1 hour
- Prep the ingredients. Dice the onion. Press the garlic cloves. Cut the leeks into circles about 1/4 inch wide. You must wash the leeks very thoroughly as they may contain dirt and sand. Cut the carrots into circles.
- Combine all ingredients in a pot, a 6-quart will do. Cover with water. Add salt, pepper and bay leaves (optional). Cook on medium heat for 1 hour. If you can let it boil for longer – up to 2.5 hours – even better. Enjoy!
